PHILADELPHIA - Historic Germantown hosts Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 from 11:00AM-4:00PM. The day of free programming happens at five Historic Germantown member sites: Stenton, Hood Cemetery, Concord School & Upper Burial Ground, Cliveden and Johnson House. The celebration consists of free tours, activities for children, live music, reenactors, and the annual ringing of the historic Concord School bell. Join us at five sites that were here when the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776! All events are FREE and open to the public.

Visit for hot dogs, ice cream, a flag-themed fan activity, games and more! Stenton will feature Benjamin Franklin, James Logan's friend, and music by Run of the Mill String Band.

Tour from 11 am- 4 pm, and attend a 2 pm bell ringing ceremony and performance of Freedom Stories by Vernyce Dannells and Jackie Jonas.

Visit the site of the 1777 Battle of Germantown, will be open for tours and children's activities.
JOHNSON HOUSE 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
